Zireael Lightsaber

As she travelled through time and space, escaping the Wild Hunt, Ciri found herself in the middle of a desert. She saw a ridge in the distance, so she put her hood up and headed towards it. The heat was almost unbearable as the twin suns scorched the sands beneath her feet. Exhausted from the blink, she collapsed. When she came to, she was inside a strange hut. Across the room a single hooded figure. She slowly sat up. The figure took of the hood and gave her a glass of water. It was a man, middle age, beard with a few specks of grey in it. They started talking. She told him her story, what happened, who she is. The man just sat and stroke his beard from time to time. Than he told her about himself, about the wars he fought in. Then he went on about some force that is all around us ... Ciri didn't fully understand, but it sounded like magic to her. He was curious about the sword she carried. Crude, yet amazing craftsmanship. He said that he has a sword as well. It was a strange thing, no blade, just a hilt that looked like it was put together from many other things. Then he pressed a button on it and a blade of pure green light appeared, accompanied by a low buzz. He called it a light saber. She found it quite amusing, mainly because she's seen quite a few sabers and none of them were straight, nor made of light.
She spent a few weeks with this hermit, gathering her strength, talking, even training from time to time. One day, as she was taking a stroll, she was attacked by a strange creature. Head like a crocodile, scaly, but looked and moved more like a dog. As it attacked, she blinked behind it to avoid the strike. The fight didn't last long, but it was enough to draw unwanted attention to herself. She came back to the hut and told the man she needs to leave. They said their goodbyes, but before she opened a portal, the man gave her something. A gift, he said, wrapped in cloth. She thanked him and stepped into the portal.
When she appeared on the other side, she was surrounded by huge structures. Everything was flooded with colorful lights, people looked strange and didn't even pay attention to her appearing out of nowhere. She then shifted her attention to the gift. She took the cloth and unwrapped it. It looked like a sword hilt, but without a blade. There was a red button on the side. She pushed the button and the dark alley was suddenly illuminated by a strong pale green glow. She smiled and mumbled "Thanks, Ben."
